Brokers go barefoot for a cause
On Friday, March 31st, Austbrokers staff members Nicola Sullivan, Helen Bullock, Jason Goodfellow and Emily Forato displayed their support for the Ricky Stuart Foundation by partaking in the inaugural charity lawn bowls event.
Putting their best feet forward, the 'Austbrokers All Stars' took to the greens to play their part in raising much needed funds for a cause near and dear to Austbrokers Canberra.
The event, which was hosted by Weston Creek Labor Club, aimed to raise $25,000 for the foundation. Ian Whybrow, Western Creek Bowls & Events Coordinator, said their initial fundraising target was bowled over.
‘The total amount raised for the day was a whopping $34, 679.70. It’s a huge effort and shows just how generous the Canberra business community are,’ said Mr. Whybrow.
The Ricky Stuart Foundation’s mission is to drive 'Autism Wellbeing' as it raises awareness within the Canberra community. The funds from this event will contribute to the foundation's next big project, 'Teen House.' This will provide care and respite to teenagers with autism, and their families.
